Completion of Research Paper

At last I completed my research paper. The experience of doing both assignments 1 and 2 had helped me to improve my interpretation of literary texts as well as my command of English. I would like to thank Dr. Edwin Malachi for giving me such a golden opportunity to do these two assignments. Lastly, I hope to do well in this paper!

Implications on Education

I was touching on how I could adapt the story into different learning activities. I found it best for classroom discussion. Since the story does not have a proper ending, I could have my students write out the ending in groups. Other than that, it could also be adapted into a play in light of the many dialogues used in the story. The good language used also makes it possible for teachers to teach grammar. This story is simply too wonderful!

Research Paper: Implications on Education

I went on doing my research paper. My main concern for today was the implications on education. Well, the Indian Camp is highly educational as it imparts a message on the importance of racial tolerance. I think it will make students realise that it is not good to look down on other races as this will compromise the peace and stability of our country. The story can also teach students to be more responsible for what they do. They should not be like Nick's father who performs the caesarian on the Indian woman without considering the risk. These are what I could think of for the time being.

Bad Performance in Exam

I did badly in my examination and it was too disheartening. I had spent so much time reading an extract that i had no time to arrange my answers well. I had also forgotten to cite my quotations! Anyway, it was already over. There was no use crying over spilt milk. I would recollect myself to do well in my research paper.

Research Paper: Writing of White man's Oppression

I had spent quite sometime writing on how the white man in the 'Indian Camp' oppress the Indians. It can be shown in Uncle Sam's offering of cigarettes to the Indians who have rowed the boat. To me, it is like forcing the Indians to accept the white man's way of life. On the other hand, The shanties in the strory clearly illustrates the fallen dignity of the Indians under white colonisation. The doctor's oblivion to the Indian woman's pain further suggests the impact on the Indian community as a result of white tyranny. However, I found something incoherent in the points presented. I would keep editing my work until everything is satisfactory.

Research Paper: Writing of Issue

I started writing on the issue: Concern for Human Welfare Should Transcend Racial Differences. Firstly, I showed the examples of injustice in the short story. They helped me to support my idea. I saw all the mistreated Indians as symbols of the oppressed. Also, I surfed the internet for more information but it was not easy. Access to all the related websites needs a lot of money. So, I decided to work on my own opinins with some extra information I got from some of the few-of-charge websites. Though the information was not much, it had helped me a lot in supporting my argument.

Preparation for Examination

The examination is only a few weeks away. I read all the downloaded notes and the prescribed books. I was hoping to do well in this paper.
